มหาวิทยาลัย Marshall University ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 1837 โดยในปัจจุบันมีอายุมากกว่า 180 ปี เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของรัฐที่นำเสนอหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนที่ทันสมัยทั้งในระดับปริญญาตรีและปริญญาโทมากกว่า 200 สาขาวิชา โดยประกอบไปด้วยทั้งหมด 10 คณะ อาทิ Business, Arts and Media, Engineering, Information and Technology, Pharmacy หรือ Medicine เป็นต้น

ภายในแคมปัสของ Marshall University เป็นแคมปัสที่สวยงามและร่มรื่น ประกอบไปด้วยตึกเก่าและใหม่มากมาย โดยมีตึกที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดที่มีชื่อว่า Old Main Building ทั้งนี้ตึกที่เป็นที่โดดเด่นที่สุดคือสองตึกใหม่ที่เป็นที่ตั้งของคณะ Information Technology and Engineering และ The Visual Arts Center

มหาวิทยาลัย Marshall University ตั้งอยู่ที่เมือง Huntington ในรัฐ West Virginia จากการที่เมืองแห่งนี้ติดอยู่กับชายฝั่งของแม่น้ำ Ohio ทำให้เมืองแห่งนี้เป็นเมืองที่มีความสวยงามและร่มรื่นเป็นอย่างยิ่ง โดยสามารถมองเห็นได้ถึง 3 รัฐคือ Kentucky, Ohio และ West Virginia
