University of Exeter มีทั้งหมด 6 คณะ มีหลักสูตรที่หลากหลาย ทั้งทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ มนุษยศาสตร์ และสังคมศาสตร์ ทั้งนี้มหาวิทยาลัยยังเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้มีโอกาสได้พัฒนาทักษะทางด้ายภาษา โดยเปิดคลาสเรียนภาษาอังกฤษเพิ่มเติมในช่วงเย็นให้กับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ นอกจากนี้มหาวิทยาลัยยังมุ่งเสริมสร้างให้นักศึกษาได้มีโอกาสในการฝึกงานอีกด้วย มหาวิทยาลัยมีชื่อเสียงด้านมาตรฐานการสอนอันน่าประทับใจ และคุณภาพงานค้นคว้าวิจัยที่โดดเด่น ได้รับการจัดอันดับเป็น Gold ในกรอบความสำเร็จด้านการสอน (Teaching Excellence Framework) และ 98% ของงานวิจัยนี้มีคุณภาพระดับสากล อีกทั้งยัง เป็นสมาชิกของกลุ่มรัสเซลอันทรงเกียรติ และมีชื่อเสียงระดับนานาชาติในการเตรียมนักศึกษาให้พร้อมสำหรับการทำงานในโลกหลังจากการศึกษา ด้วยความช่วยเหลือของการบริการด้านอาชีพที่ได้รับรางวัล 94% ของบัณฑิตได้เข้าทำงานหรือเรียนต่อภายในหกเดือนหลังจากสำเร็จการศึกษาตามรายงานของ HESA (2015)

University of Exeter อยู่ใกล้กับ City Centre ห่างจากสถานีรถไฟ Central Station เพียง 10 นาที สามารถเดินจากอาคารเรียนและสถานที่ติดต่อต่างๆ ภายในบริเวณมหาวิทยาลัยได้โดยง่าย มหาวิทยาลัยประกอบด้วย 3 แคมปัส คือ แคมปัส Streatham สำหรับคอร์ส Business Law Humanities & Social Sciences Psychology, Engineering and Biosciences แคมปัส St Luke สำหรับคอร์ส Education, Medicine, Sport Science ห่างจาก City Centre ประมาณ 20 นาทีโดยรถเมล์ และอีกที่ คือแคมปัส Cornwall ห่างจากเมือง Exeter 90 นาที สำหรับคอร์ส Specialist Course อย่างเช่น Conservation Biology, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Environmental Science, Geology และ Mining Engineering
