Northeastern University เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 1898 มหาวิทยาลัยมีชื่อเสียงเป็นอย่างมากในด้านของการวิจัย ปัจจุบันเปิดสอนในระดับชั้นปริญญาตรี,ปริญญาโทและปริญญาเอก มีจำนวนนักศึกษาประมาณ 20,000 คน มหาวิทยาลัยนี้มีทั้งหมด 6 วิทยาเขตด้วยกัน ได้แก่ Boston, Charlotte, San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley และ Toronto โดยมี Boston เป็นวิทยาเขตหลัก และเนื่องจาก Boston เป็นเมืองที่ตั้งของบริษัทและสำนักงานใหญ่ๆที่มีชื่อเสียงมากมาย จึงเป็นโอกาสที่ดีที่ทำให้นักศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยนี้จะมีโอกาสฝึกงาน หรือเข้าร่วมเป็นส่วนนึงในองค์กรและบริษัทใหญ่ๆระดับสากลได้ หลักสูตรที่มีชื่อเสียงและได้รับความนิยมในหมู่นักศึกษามากที่สุดคือ สาขาที่เกี่ยวกับธุรกิจทั้งหมด ได้แก่ Business, Marketing, Management เป็นต้น

Northeastern University ตั้งอยู่ใจกลางเมือง Boston รัฐ Massachusetts อยู่ทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศอเมริกา ซึ่งเป็นเมืองที่มีชื่อเล่นว่า “เมืองแห่งการศึกษาของสหรัฐอเมริกา” เนื่องจากเป็นเมืองที่รวมมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีชื่อเสียงไว้มากมาย เช่น Harvard, MIT, Boston University เป็นต้น ปัจจุบันมหาวิทยาลัยมีทั้งหมด 6 วิทยาเขต โดยมีวิทยาเขตบอสตันเป็นวิทยาเขตหลัก ภายในมหาวิทยาลัยมีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกมากมาย เช่น โรงยิมขนาดใหญ่, สระว่ายน้ำในร่ม, ห้องสตูดิโอเอนกประสงค์, ร้านอาหารมากมายหลายชนิด เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ทางมหาวิทยาลัยยังมีคลับกิจกรรมให้นักเรียนเข้าร่วมกว่า 400 คลับ
